Clinical Ethology Education in Europe

Clinical Ethology Education in Europe

Different European Countries offer opportunities for further education in veterinary ethology. We try to keep this list as complete and up to date as possible.

The European College of Animal Welfare and Veterinary Behavioural Medicine (ECAWBM) certifies veterinarians who have demonstrated advanced training, capability, and competence in treating animal behaviour problems and disorders and who have attained acceptable scores on comprehensive examinations.

Diplomates are recognised as specialists by the European Board of Veterinary Specialisation with the title of: European Veterinary Specialist in Behavioural Medicine (companion animals). The demanding process of board certification assures quality service to the public and their animals, by accredited veterinary behaviour specialists.

The European College of Animal Welfare and Veterinary Behavioural Medicine encourages the acquisition of specialty training beyond the professional veterinary requirements and the updating of the certified specialist’s competency and to maintain the standards required by the EBVS as the umbrella organisation for recognised certification of veterinary specialists in Europe.
